Frequently asked questions

Are cross-border taxis to Johor Bahru legal in 2026?

Yes — taxis licensed under the official Cross-Border Taxi Scheme are fully legal and jointly regulated by Singapore’s LTA and Malaysia’s APAD. The illegal part is the unlicensed touts at the checkpoints. From 4 May 2026 the scheme also lets licensed taxis drop you off anywhere in Singapore and across the Johor Bahru area (Iskandar Puteri, Forest City, Kulai and Senai). See our 2026 cross-border taxi scheme guide for the new rules, pick-up points and fares — or book a door-to-door private chauffeur and skip the terminals altogether.

Are your drivers vaccinated?

All our drivers are fully vaccinated and re-tested for symptoms regularly. We provide masks and hand sanitiser in every vehicle on request.

Can I book a child seat or booster?

Yes — please request when booking. We provide infant seats, toddler seats, and boosters at no extra charge with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes for small pets in carriers, no extra charge. Larger dogs (>15kg) — please WhatsApp first; we have specific drivers and vehicles set up for this.

Can I make multiple stops?

Yes — and there’s no limit on extra points. The fare covers one pick-up and one drop-off; each additional pick-up or drop-off point adds SGD 20 (e.g. SG home → JB hospital → KSL Mall → SG home = 2 extra points). Waiting time is SGD 60 per hour. Long-haul (KL, Genting) is single drop-off; multi-stop available as full-day driver hire.

Can I tip the driver?

Tipping is appreciated but not expected. If you’d like to tip, cash directly to the driver works best.

Can the driver stop somewhere on the way?

Yes, up to 2 short stops included in standard cross-border fares (e.g. petrol, food, restroom). Longer stops (>15 min) — please mention when booking.

Causeway or Tuas — which is faster?

Depends on time of day and your destination. Causeway is faster for JB Sentral / city centre / Larkin. Tuas is faster for Iskandar Puteri / Legoland / Bukit Indah / Nusajaya. We check live ICA queue data before we leave and pick the better option.
