Toyota Alphard
Cross-border luxury for families and executives — the gold standard for SG↔KL. 6 pax with 2 checked + 2 cabin bags.
See Toyota Alphard details →4-star resort at ~1,300m with on-site strawberry farm, lavender garden, mushroom tour, animal park, maze and mini golf. SGD ~80-180/night vs SGD 150-400+ at summit hotels.
Strawberry Park Resort is the mid-mountain hotel and leisure resort sitting at around 1,300 metres on the Genting Highlands road — between the Awana SkyWay base at the foothills and the Resorts World Genting (RWG) summit at 1,800m. It’s named after the on-site strawberry farm, with a small cluster of family-anchored attractions tacked on: lavender garden, mushroom-farm tour, animal petting park, maze garden, mini golf. Cooler than KL, warmer than the casino-anchored summit, with hotel rates a meaningful step below the RWG complex. For SG families with young kids who want outdoor and nature time without basing inside a casino-and-mall environment, Strawberry Park is the obvious mid-mountain pick.
Strawberry Park sits at around 1,300 metres — about 500m lower than the summit’s RWG cluster but still firmly in the cool-highland band (16-22°C typical daytime). 281 rooms across 4-star tier, multi-room family suites, on-site Padma Buffet, heated pool, gym, and the cluster of outdoor attractions that make it a destination in its own right.
The positioning question is Strawberry Park versus the summit hotels covered in our Genting hotel guide. The r1 hotel guide covers the seven RWG summit hotels — First World, Genting Grand, Crockfords, Maxims, Theme Park Hotel — all at the casino-and-theme-park summit. Strawberry Park is the mid-mountain alternative: lower elevation, outdoor-anchored, family-coded rather than casino-coded, a clear price tier below. Most attractions still sit at the summit, so a Strawberry Park stay means using the free shuttle or a chauffeur up the mountain.
The 281-room property runs across superior, deluxe, family suite and a handful of premium categories. Approximate rates: SGD $80-180/night, with family suites at the upper end. Summit RWG hotels run SGD $150-400+ on the same dates — the mid-mountain saving (typically SGD 70-150/night) is real, and the hotel is genuinely 4-star quality. Heated pool, gym, on-site Padma Buffet (lunch MYR 65 / dinner MYR 90), free parking. Free shuttle to Awana SkyWay base and Genting Highlands Premium Outlets every 30 minutes — convenient for casual day-runs to the summit, less convenient for tight timing on a SkyWorlds slot or Arena of Stars concert.
The strawberry farm is the headline — pick-your-own at MYR 10/100g + MYR 5 entry, daily 9 AM to 6 PM. Yields are highest in wet season (Nov-Jan), lowest in dry summer (Mar-Apr). The lavender + flower garden is free walking trails (bloom best Mar-May and Oct-Dec). The mushroom-farm tour runs guided tours with tasting (MYR 12 adult / MYR 8 child). The animal park is a petting zoo (rabbits, guinea pigs, ponies; MYR 10 / MYR 6) for kids 3-7. The maze garden + mini golf combo at MYR 15 fills 60-90 minutes.
| Attraction | Adult (MYR) | Child (MYR) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strawberry picking | 5 entry + 10/100g | Same | 9 AM – 6 PM; lower yields Mar-Apr |
| Lavender + flower garden | Free | Free | Bloom Mar-May + Oct-Dec |
| Mushroom farm tour | 12 | 8 | Guided with tasting |
| Animal park | 10 | 6 | Petting zoo |
| Maze + mini golf combo | 15 | 15 | ~60-90 min combined |
| Padma Buffet (dinner) | ~90 | Half price | On-site at the resort |
Total on-site cost for a family of four across all attractions runs roughly MYR 150-200 plus picking-by-weight — modest for a half-to-full day of outdoor activities.
Not for: solo casino-focused travellers, couples wanting the Hakkasan-and-rooftop-bar stack, or anyone with tight timing around an Arena of Stars concert.
The honest comparison most SG families ask: Strawberry Park at Genting versus the strawberry farms at Cameron Highlands. Cameron is the larger and more established strawberry destination — multiple competing farms, larger picking acreage, broader cool-highland agricultural setting that makes it a 2D1N trip in its own right. Genting Strawberry Park is smaller and works as an add-on inside a main Genting trip. If strawberries are your headline, Cameron is the better trip; if Genting is the headline and strawberries are a half-day add-on for the kids, Strawberry Park is the right pick. Same logic for cool-highland hotels generally — see our Cameron hotel guide.
Genting is ~390 km / 5.5-6 hours from SG via Tuas Second Link, the NSE, the KL ring and the Karak Highway turn-off. Strawberry Park sits at mid-mountain — about 5 km / 10 minutes down from the summit. From SGD ~390 (Standard MPV) for SG↔Genting one-way — about SGD 50 above SG↔KL given the extra distance and mountain drive, all tolls included. Standard MPV (Voxy / Noah / Serena, 7-seat) for a family of 4-5; Luxury MPV (Alphard / Vellfire) the recline-seat call for older parents. Groups of 8+ take the 13-seater Combi tier in our group bus rental; see our fleet for tier options. Multi-day stays use a full-day driver-style hourly arrangement on the mountain. Self-drivers need the VEP application (mandatory since July 2025). For the cool-weather context see our Genting cool weather guide.
Yes — typically SGD $80-180/night for standard categories, versus SGD $150-400+ at summit RWG hotels. The mid-mountain saving is meaningful — usually SGD 70-150/night below comparable summit options — and the hotel is genuinely 4-star quality. See our Genting hotel guide for the summit cluster comparison.
