Toyota Voxy
Budget-friendly family MPV — great for short cross-border runs. 5 pax with 2 checked + 2 cabin bags.
See Toyota Voxy details →Door-to-door transfer from any Singapore address to JB City Square and KOMTAR JBCC, both attached to JB Sentral CIQ. Flat fares from SGD 150, all tolls and Causeway clearance included. The lowest-friction shopping run in JB.
City Square JB and the adjacent KOMTAR JBCC sit literally across the road from Sultan Iskandar Building (Causeway CIQ) — for many Singapore visitors, this is the first JB landmark they hit after immigration. It’s the most central, lowest-friction shopping destination in Johor Bahru.
City Square is JB’s most central mall, sharing a city block with KOMTAR JBCC and connected to JB Sentral train station and the immigration complex. The two malls together form a contiguous shopping zone with a hidden walkway behind KOMTAR JBCC that links straight through to City Square — a nice trick if it’s raining.
This is one of the rare JB destinations where every cross-border mode actually works. Here’s the honest comparison.
The KTM Shuttle Tebrau from Woodlands lands at JB Sentral, which sits attached to City Square and KOMTAR JBCC. From there, City Square is a 2–3 minute covered walk. This is one of the few JB destinations where the train is a serious option rather than a workaround — no onward Grab needed.
Causeway Link CW1, SBS Service 170 and the SJE express services all stop at or near JB Sentral, putting you within walking distance of both malls. Cheapest mode, but you’re queueing through CIQ on foot with everyone else. Full breakdown on our cross-border bus guide.
Pickup from any Singapore address. We cross via the Causeway and drop you right at City Square’s drop-off bay. Drive time is ~5 minutes from Sultan Iskandar Building, and it’s the fastest mode if your pickup is somewhere awkward like the East Coast or far west. Flat fares start at SGD 150 (Standard 4-seater) or SGD 150 (Standard MPV). Pair with our cross border taxi service for round-trip same-day shopping runs.
Possible, but City Square parking gets full early on weekends and you’ll need a VEP tag. Most Singapore visitors skip the parking hunt and either take the train or book a chauffeur.
Flat fare per vehicle, not per person. Causeway tolls and Malaysian highway tolls included.
| Vehicle | Pax | Flat fare (SGD) |
|---|---|---|
| Standard MPV (Voxy / Noah / Serena) | 4–7 | $150 |
| Luxury MPV (Alphard / Vellfire) | 4–7 | $180 |
| 13-seater Hiace | 8–13 | $210 |
Round-trip rates are available — 2× the one-way fare. See the full pricing matrix →
About 5 minutes once you’ve cleared Sultan Iskandar Building, plus CIQ time on both sides. City Square is the closest JB mall to the Causeway — you can almost see it from the immigration complex.
Causeway, no question. City Square is attached to the Causeway CIQ. Tuas Second Link adds 25+ minutes of detour through Iskandar Puteri and isn’t worth it unless Causeway traffic is at a complete standstill.
If you’re solo or a couple living near Woodlands MRT and packing light, the KTM is hard to beat. If you’re a family of four-plus, carrying shopping back, or starting from a faraway pickup, a chauffeur usually comes out ahead on time and bag-handling.
Yes — our standard wait is 30 minutes free, and longer waits charge an hourly disposal rate. For a half-day City Square trip, a round-trip booking with a return pickup window is usually cleaner than asking a driver to hold for hours.
Yes. We pick up at the City Square or KOMTAR JBCC drop-off bay and head straight back across the Causeway. Send us your pickup time on WhatsApp and we’ll have a driver staged.
Yes — SGD, MYR cash, PayNow, bank transfer, WeChat Pay and AliPay all work. Full payment options.
They’re all in the same complex — drop at City Square and you can walk to KOMTAR JBCC and JB Sentral within minutes. There’s even a hidden internal walkway through Padini’s second floor linking the two malls.
