Singapore’s two cruise terminals — and how to avoid the wrong one

This is the single most common cruise-day mistake. The two terminals are nowhere near each other, they serve different cruise lines, and the names are easy to muddle. Here’s the quick map.

Marina Bay Cruise Centre is the bigger, downtown terminal. It isn’t well connected to the MRT — the nearest station is Marina South Pier, and you still have a walk or shuttle to the door, which is no fun with a stack of suitcases. It wrapped up a S$40M upgrade in October 2025, adding a new Pier 2 check-in hall, more ride-hailing lots, and early baggage drop-off, so a pre-booked car can pull right up to a proper drop point. Singapore Cruise Centre @ HarbourFront sits beside VivoCity and HarbourFront MRT, right next to Sentosa, and handles the smaller luxury and expedition lines plus regional ferries.

The point: if you only remember “the cruise terminal”, you have a one-in-two chance of being wrong. Give us the line or ship and we lock the correct terminal into the booking.

Why pre-book over a taxi or Grab on cruise day

Cruise day has a hard deadline most trips don’t — miss it and the ship leaves without you.

• Fixed embarkation cut-off. You must be on board by a set time or the ship sails. A pre-booked car with a driver already waiting removes the gamble of finding a taxi in the morning rush.
• Heavy cruise luggage. Cruise packing is rarely a cabin bag — it’s big cases for a week or two at sea. An MPV swallows that comfortably; a queue cab might not.
• Families and groups. One vehicle for the whole party beats splitting across separate cabs that arrive at different times.
• The disembarkation crush. A whole ship — thousands of passengers — exits within a couple of hours. The taxi queue on arrival morning is brutal, and ride-hail apps surge on cue. A driver waiting with your name skips all of it.
• No surge. The fare is agreed up front and doesn’t move, however many ships are in port that day.

• Your cruise line or ship name. This is how we confirm Marina Bay Cruise Centre versus HarbourFront — never guess.
• Embarkation or disembarkation date and time. So we pick a pickup that clears the boarding cut-off, or catches you at the gangway on arrival day.
• Pickup address and party size. Plus rough luggage count, so we send a car with enough boot space.
