See Toyota Voxy details →Door-to-door Mount Austin cross-border transfers from any Singapore address. Flat fares from SGD 150, all tolls and Causeway clearance included. Land you straight at the cafe, KBBQ buffet, or supper spot — no hailing Grab on the JB side.
Mount Austin is the food haven Singaporeans cross over for — cafes, KBBQ buffets, $0.60 mini-bowl food courts and late-night supper streets, all clustered in eastern JB. A private chauffeur from Singapore drops you straight at the door, then waits or returns when you’re done eating.
Mount Austin (Taman Mount Austin) is a residential township that turned into JB’s cafe and supper district. It sits east of JB city centre, off Pasir Gudang Highway, and packs trendy brunch spots, halal-friendly cafes, late-night eateries and budget food courts within a tight grid of streets. Most Singapore visitors come for a multi-stop food tour rather than shopping.
Mount Austin sits about 20–25 minutes east of the Causeway. Here’s how each travel mode actually plays out.
Our flat fare from any Singapore address starts at SGD 150 in a Standard MPV (Voxy / Noah / Serena) that takes 4–5 with luggage. Drive time is roughly 20–25 minutes from Sultan Iskandar Building once you clear immigration. Causeway tolls and Malaysian highway tolls are baked into the fare. This is the only mode that drops you at the cafe door — every other option needs a Grab once you reach JB. See cross border taxi options for the full SG↔JB lineup.
There’s no direct bus from Singapore to Mount Austin. Most travellers take a Causeway Link or SBS 170 service to JB Sentral, then book a Grab or local taxi the last 10 km east. Workable if you’re solo and on a budget; clunky in a group with shopping bags. More on the cross border bus singapore options.
The shuttle tebrau runs Woodlands CIQ to JB Sentral in five minutes, but it’s not direct to Mount Austin — you’d need an onward Grab from JB Sentral, similar to the bus route.
Possible if you have a registered vep application for your Singapore-plated car, plus an active Touch ‘n Go for Malaysian tolls. Parking in Mount Austin is generally easy; the friction is the Causeway queue, not the destination.
Flat fare per vehicle, not per person. Causeway tolls and Malaysian highway tolls included.
| Vehicle | Pax | Flat fare (SGD) |
|---|---|---|
| Standard MPV (Voxy / Noah / Serena) | 4–7 | $150 |
| Luxury MPV (Alphard / Vellfire) | 4–7 | $180 |
| 13-seater Hiace | 8–13 | $210 |
Round-trip rates are available — typically 2× the one-way fare with a wait or return leg. See the full pricing matrix →
Roughly 20–25 minutes from Sultan Iskandar Building once you clear immigration, via Tebrau Highway and Pasir Gudang Highway. Add 20–60 minutes for Causeway clearance during peak windows (Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, Sunday evenings).
Causeway, every time. Mount Austin is in eastern JB; using Tuas Second Link adds significant distance via Iskandar Puteri and Skudai. We default to the Causeway / Sultan Iskandar Building route for this district.
Yes. Standard wait is 30 minutes free; longer holds use an hourly disposal rate. WhatsApp us before booking if you want a multi-stop food tour with the same driver — we’ll quote a flat hourly rate up front.
Yes — multi-stop is one of the most common Mount Austin requests. Send the rough itinerary on WhatsApp and we’ll quote either a flat door-to-door fare with waits, or a half-day chauffeur. Compare against our full day driver singapore hourly product if you want flexibility.
Yes — we accept SGD, MYR cash, PayNow, bank transfer, WeChat Pay and AliPay. Useful if you’ve already changed money for the food trail. Full payment options.
Yes. Late-night returns from Mount Austin to Singapore are available in all four vehicle tiers. Operating window is 5am–11pm SGT for confirmation replies; rides themselves run 24/7 once confirmed. Book the return at the same time as the outbound to lock in the fare.
Yes — Mount Austin has plenty of street parking and lot parking around the Trade Centre and the cafe blocks. The main friction is the Causeway queue, not the destination. If queue times are heavy, we’ll get you there in a jiffy via a chauffeured vehicle that uses a different lane allocation.
