What’s at Toppen Mall?

Toppen opened in 2019 and is operated by Ikano Centres — the IKEA-affiliated retail arm. The format is closer to a modern lifestyle megamall than a traditional JB shopping centre: clean facilities, a rooftop community hub, and the IKEA Tebrau store connected directly via a covered link bridge.

IKEA Tebrau — the main draw. Largest IKEA in Malaysia, 54 showrooms, and pricing that often undercuts IKEA Singapore on the same SKU.

How to get to Toppen Mall from Singapore

Toppen sits in the Tebrau area east of the JB city centre, just off the Tebrau Highway. The Causeway is the natural crossing.

By private chauffeur (door-to-door)

The most practical option, especially if you’re shopping IKEA. Pickup from any Singapore address, cross via Sultan Iskandar Building, and your driver drops you at Toppen’s main entrance — and meets you back at the same point with a boot full of flatpacks. Drive time is ~15–20 minutes from the Causeway via Tebrau Highway. Flat fares start at SGD 150 (Standard 4-seater) or SGD 150 (Standard MPV). By cross-border bus

No direct Singapore–Toppen bus. The closest option is a CW-series bus to JB Sentral and a Grab onward to Tebrau, which adds a transfer leg and isn’t realistic with IKEA boxes. Compare options on our cross-border bus guide.

By KTM Shuttle Tebrau

Not direct. The KTM lands at JB Sentral; you’d still need a 15-minute Grab onward to Toppen, which negates the time saving on the Singapore side.

Drive yourself

Possible. Toppen has a multi-storey car park, but you’ll need a VEP tag for any Singapore-registered car — and on weekends the IKEA loading bay queue can be long.

When private chauffeur makes sense for Toppen Mall

How long does it take to drive from Singapore to Toppen Mall?

About 15–20 minutes from Sultan Iskandar Building via Tebrau Highway, plus CIQ time on both sides. Off-peak weekday mornings are smoothest; Saturday afternoons add 15–20 minutes of Causeway queue.

Causeway or Tuas Second Link for Toppen?

Causeway. Toppen is in the Tebrau area east of JB city centre, so the Causeway puts you on the natural Tebrau Highway approach. Tuas Second Link adds 25+ minutes through Iskandar Puteri.

Will an IKEA wardrobe fit in your vehicles?

A full-size IKEA PAX wardrobe in flatpack form usually needs at minimum a Standard MPV with the back row folded, and bigger orders are best moved in a 13-seater Hiace with seats stowed. Send us your IKEA item list on WhatsApp before booking and we’ll recommend the right tier.

Can the driver wait while I shop IKEA?

Yes — our standard wait is 30 minutes free; longer waits charge an hourly disposal rate. For a 2–3 hour IKEA run, book a round-trip with a defined return pickup time instead of asking the driver to hold.

Can you help load the IKEA flatpacks into the car?

Drivers help with loading at the Toppen pickup point as a courtesy. For very large items, IKEA’s loading bay staff also assist at the Tebrau store. Heavier orders are easier in a Hiace where you have flat floor space.

Do drivers accept Malaysian Ringgit?
