What Chin Swee Cave Temple is

Chin Swee sits about halfway up the mountain road between Genting Highlands Premium Outlets at the foothills and the Resorts World Genting summit. Reverend Master Sek Kim Seng founded the temple in 1976 after a personal pilgrimage; the site took 18 years to complete, opening in its current form in 1994. The temple is named after Reverend Sek Chin Swee, a 19th-century monk from Fujian whose teachings the founder was honouring.

When to go — morning is the only right answer

Open daily 8 AM to 6 PM. The realistic visit window is 9-11 AM. Three reasons: mist and cloud roll in from 11 AM onwards and frequently block the cliff view through the afternoon; cooler weather (17-18°C morning, 17-22°C typical) suits the exposed pagoda decks; and tour buses arrive 11 AM – 1 PM, so mornings are quieter for photography. If you can only visit afternoon, the architecture and gardens still work — just don’t budget on long-distance views.
