Standard MPV
Toyota Voxy
Budget-friendly family MPV — great for short cross-border runs. 5 pax with 2 checked + 2 cabin bags.
See Toyota Voxy details →Jumppy is a cross-border chauffeur service — we drive you there; we don't run the businesses in this guide. Microblading, ombre brows, combination brows, lip blush and eyeliner tattoo at 65-70% under SG. Same techniques and OEM pigments (BioTouch, Tina Davies, Permablend). How to choose a KKM-licensed studio, what to ask before the needle goes in, and how to plan the touch-up cycle.
Eyebrow embroidery and permanent makeup is one of the highest-savings cross-border procedures SG residents do in JB. A full microblading session at SGD $700-1,200 in SG lands at SGD $190-380 across the Causeway — same techniques, same OEM pigments, often by artists trained in Singapore, Korea or Taiwan. The catch is that the procedure is permanent. Pigment goes under the skin; if something goes wrong, removal is laser surgery. So this guide spends time on safety verification: KKM certification, single-use needles, pigment provenance, artist portfolio. The “MYR 200 microblading” back-room deal is not the way to capture the savings.
The PMU industry runs on a small handful of pigment brands worldwide. BioTouch (German), Tina Davies (Canadian) and Permablend (US) are the names at any reputable studio in Singapore, KL, Bangkok or Seoul. Same brands and single-use needle cartridges (Cheyenne, Tatsoul, BioTouch) ship into both SG and MY through the same regional supply chain. Technique is taught from the same Korean and US training schools that certify SG and JB artists. What changes is the artist’s labour rate and studio overhead — the 65-70% gap is structural, not quality-driven.
The recurring nature compounds the savings. A microblading client maintaining brows over a 6-year cycle does ~8-10 sessions total. JB cumulative cost ~SGD $1,500-2,500 vs SG ~SGD $4,500-7,500 — SGD $3,000-5,000 saved across the cycle.
Not exhaustive — JB has dozens of legitimate KKM-licensed studios. Shortlist below leans toward the names with the strongest Singapore-client following as of 2026, all KKM-licensed at the time of writing. Verify the cert at the studio.
Specialist eyebrow studio — microblading and ombre powder brows the focus, no general beauty distractions. KKM-licensed artists, BioTouch and Tina Davies pigments. Senior-artist sessions SGD $190-380. The cleanest pick for first-time JB PMU.
Full PMU menu — brows, eyeliner tattoo, lip blush. SGD $220-450 per session. Strong on combination brows (microblading strokes plus ombre shading).
Modern boutique with a younger artist roster — useful for trend-aware shapes (fluffy, feathered, brushed-up). SGD $160-310. Mall location pairs naturally with a money-changer stop.
Lashes & Brows bundles PMU with eyelash extensions; SGD $130-280 brows plus SGD $50-100 lashes. Beauty Artistry runs quick-service mid-tier SGD $130-260; suits repeat clients who know the artist.
SGD-equivalent ranges as of early 2026. Confirm exact quotes at consultation; pricing depends on artist seniority, technique combination and pigment selection.

Per-session savings sit at SGD $700-1,200 on the headline procedures. Across a 3-year cycle, cumulative savings clear SGD $1,200-2,000 per client. PMU is the highest-savings recurring beauty procedure SG residents do in JB.
Clients confuse the categories. PMU uses a smaller needle in a shallower skin layer with iron-oxide pigment that fades over 1-3 years — semi-permanent cosmetic enhancement. Body-art tattoo uses a deeper needle in the dermis with carbon-based pigment designed to be permanent — decorative art. If you are weighing PMU versus a decorative piece, our JB tattoo and piercing guide covers the body-art side. Most JB studios specialise in one or the other.
A complete first-time PMU cycle takes 4-6 weeks across two visits, then a maintenance trip every 12-18 months:
Total cross-border trips: 2 in the first six weeks, then 1 every 12-18 months. Across a 3-year cycle, 4-5 SG-JB trips.
Once pigment is under the skin, removal is laser surgery. So the safety check happens before the needle goes in:
The 7-14 day window after PMU determines how the pigment heals and settles:
A PMU session is a clean half-day. A Standard MPV like a Toyota Voxy is the comfortable default at SGD $150 (Standard MPV) one-way / SGD $180 (Luxury MPV) one-way, all tolls and Causeway clearance included. Numbing cream wears off over 4-6 hours; the chauffeur ride home is one of the reasons the PMU economics work.
For pre-wedding brides scheduling PMU 6-8 weeks out, pair with our JB bridal photoshoot guide, JB hair salon guide and JB aesthetic clinic guide for parallel skin-prep injectables. For repeat clients, pair with our JB facial guide (have the facial first so the brow area is clean). For post-PMU portraits at 4-6 weeks, see our JB photography studio guide; recovery in our JB foot reflexology guide. Driving yourself needs a VEP since July 2025. Bridal-party group bookings use our group bus rental (13+ pax); MY-side corporate beauty perks bill via our corporate account. The full-day driver keeps one vehicle on hold for the studio-plus-mall loop.
Roughly 65-70% cheaper. Microblading SGD $700-1,200 in SG vs SGD $190-380 in JB; combination brows SGD $1,000-1,700 vs SGD $300-540; touch-ups SGD $200-450 vs SGD $60-180. Cumulative savings across a 3-year cycle clear SGD $1,200-2,000 per client.
Yes — at KKM-licensed studios with credentialled artists using single-use needles and OEM pigment brands (BioTouch, Tina Davies, Permablend). Verify the KKM cert displays at the studio. The actual safety risk is corner-cutting on needle hygiene and pigment quality, not the country. Avoid backroom PMU.
Microblading uses a manual blade for fine hair-like strokes — natural look, suits dry-to-normal skin. Ombre powder brows use a rotary machine for a soft shaded effect — like brow powder makeup, suits oily skin and lasts longer. Combination mixes both. Combination is the current best-of-both technique trend.
Free perfecting touch-up at 4-6 weeks (included in the initial price at most studios). Annual touch-up at 12-18 months at half price. Full re-do every 2-3 years. Across a 3-year cycle, plan for 4-5 SG-JB trips.
Technically yes, but uncomfortable — numbing cream wears off over 4-6 hours and the brow area can feel tight or tender. The chauffeur ride home is one of the reasons the cross-border maths works.
Same procedure family, similar 65-70% savings, similar aftercare. Don’t schedule them in the same session as brows — too much healing area at once.
A Standard MPV (Toyota Voxy class) at SGD $150 one-way handles solo or couple visits. A Luxury MPV (Alphard or Vellfire) at SGD $180 is the upgrade for the recline-and-recover ride home. See our fleet and our pricing matrix.
