Pitfalls and things to know

If you’re bringing a pet across the border, read this part first. Singapore regulates pet movement strictly. Live animals — including your own dog or cat going to JB and back — fall under Singapore’s Animal and Veterinary Service (now part of NParks). At a minimum, expect to need an import licence, microchipping, an up-to-date rabies vaccination, and possibly a veterinary health certificate. Re-entry from Malaysia has its own conditions.
