Standard MPV
Toyota Voxy
Budget-friendly family MPV — great for short cross-border runs. 5 pax with 2 checked + 2 cabin bags.
See Toyota Voxy details →Jumppy is a cross-border chauffeur service — we drive you there; we don't run the businesses in this guide. Procedure-focused dentistry across the Causeway. Same Straumann, Nobel and e.max materials, MDC-licensed dentists, 40–65% under Singapore quotes. Here is who to see and how to plan a six-month treatment plan.
Dental check-ups, scaling and small fillings have been a JB-routine for SG families for years — we cover that everyday version on our JB dental guide. This page is the other half of the story: the procedure-focused trip. Implants, full-mouth restoration, porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges, full-case Invisalign, surgical wisdom-tooth removal — the work that costs SGD $4,500 to SGD $60,000 in Singapore and lands at SGD $1,800 to SGD $25,000 across the Causeway. The materials are the same Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Osstem implants and e.max porcelain you’d find at an Orchard Road clinic. The mark-up isn’t.
The pricing differential isn’t a quality cut. The brand-name implant systems used at the senior JB clinics — Straumann (Swiss), Nobel Biocare, Osstem (Korean) — are the exact same fixtures sold to Singapore implantologists, with the same warranty cards. Veneers run the same e.max, Empress and zirconia porcelains. Invisalign brackets ship direct from Align Technology in the US, with identical product worldwide. What changes is the dentist’s overhead: clinic real estate at Malaysian rates, lab work done in-house at Malaysian wages, and a less consolidated specialist market that keeps margins in check.
The gap shows up most cleanly on big-ticket work. A single Straumann implant that runs SGD $4,500 to SGD $6,500 in Singapore lands at SGD $1,800 to SGD $3,200 in JB — a saving of SGD $2,500 to SGD $3,500 per fixture, before you’ve factored chauffeur cost. A full-mouth restoration that runs SGD $25,000 to SGD $60,000 in Singapore costs SGD $9,000 to SGD $25,000 across the Causeway. At those numbers, even five chauffeur trips at SGD $150 one-way leave you SGD $1,900+ ahead per implant and SGD $14,000+ ahead on full-mouth work. The math gets more comfortable the bigger the case.
Not exhaustive — JB has dozens of MDC-licensed clinics. The shortlist below leans toward the names with the strongest SG-patient reputation as of 2026 for procedure work, weighted toward clinics with senior implantologists, periodontists and orthodontists on staff.
Full-service specialist centre with a senior periodontist and implantologist on staff. The right answer for complex implant work, oral surgery and orthodontics that needs multi-disciplinary coordination under one roof. English-first consultations and a strong SG patient base.
Established multi-branch chain — one of the most recognised names in JB dental. Standardised protocols across branches, English-first front desk, and the chain format means consistent pricing on full-case work. A safe pick for first-time cross-border dental patients.
The same Q&M brand SG residents already know — MY branches use the same group protocols and your records port across without a fresh history-take. Useful if you’re already a Q&M SG patient and want continuity. Located inside Mid Valley Southkey and KSL City Mall, so the dental visit pairs cleanly with a money-changer or grocery stop.
Boutique cosmetic-dentistry focus — the right answer for veneers, smile design and Invisalign cases where the aesthetic outcome is the whole point. Smaller team, less suited to surgical implant work, but strong on the cosmetic shortlist.
Newer clinic with Singapore-trained dentists and a strong Invisalign caseload. Mid-tier pricing and a growing SG patient base.
Mid-tier all-procedures clinic popular with SG families on the maintenance-plus-occasional-procedure pattern. Useful if you want the same clinic for routine check-ups and the bigger-ticket work.
SGD-equivalent ranges as of early 2026. Always confirm the exact quote during consultation; pricing depends on implant brand, lab work, complexity and which specialist is doing the procedure.

Most major clinics accept credit card and TNG e-wallet alongside cash; smaller boutiques may run MYR-cash-preferred. For higher-ticket cases — full-mouth work, multi-implant plans — bring a credit card with no FX surcharge or settle via Wise / Revolut.
Major dental work isn’t a one-day visit. A typical single implant case runs across about six months and roughly five chauffeur trips:
Multi-implant cases consolidate visits — three implants placed in the same sitting cuts the trip count meaningfully. Full-mouth restoration cases run longer (8 to 12 months, 7 to 10 visits) but with the same pattern: consult, surgery phase, healing wait, prosthetic phase, fit-out. The chauffeur side benefits from booking ahead — we can hold the same vehicle and driver across the treatment plan if you want continuity.
The senior JB clinics use the same internationally branded systems as Singapore. Implants are typically Straumann (Swiss), Nobel Biocare or Osstem (Korean) — all with manufacturer warranty cards issued at fitting. Porcelain veneers and crowns run e.max (lithium disilicate), Empress or zirconia, with five-to-ten-year clinic warranties at the top tier.
Local anaesthesia is the standard for routine procedures. IV sedation is available at the major clinics for surgical work — implant placement, multiple extractions, longer procedures where staying still for two hours under local would be uncomfortable. General anaesthesia for full-mouth restoration is offered at hospital-based dental units (Sunway Medical Velocity, KPJ) for patients who want a single-sitting approach. Sedation cases benefit from chauffeur over self-drive — you cannot drive on IV sedation residual, and even local anaesthetic numbness through the lip and jaw makes the return Causeway trip unpleasant. Book the chauffeur for the same day; we wait.
Most SG dental insurance plans — AIA Achiever, Great Eastern Smartcare and similar — reimburse MY-performed treatment if the dentist is properly licensed. The standard requirement is a fully itemised receipt in English plus the dentist’s MDC (Malaysian Dental Council) registration number on the invoice. Ask the clinic billing desk for both at the time of payment; chasing them later is harder.
Coverage caps and co-payment terms vary by policy tier. Confirm in advance whether your plan covers implants, orthodontics or cosmetic veneers (some plans exclude cosmetic work entirely). For corporate dental benefits, your HR team will usually clarify whether cross-border treatment is covered before you commit. The same itemised-invoice + MDC-number approach holds for SG insurance reimbursement on the medical side — see our sister JB aesthetic clinic guide for parallel framing on cosmetic-medical claims.
Most procedure visits sit in a half-day window: late-morning SG pickup, Causeway clear by mid-day, consultation or procedure between 1 and 4 PM, evening return. Allow about three to four hours per visit including travel buffer. For surgical days — extraction, bone graft, implant placement — you’ll want a soft-food day after, so post-procedure plan is straight home rather than a meal stop. If the surgery runs late afternoon and the recovery feels uncomfortable, an overnight at a Tebrau hotel before the SG return drive is the kinder shape; pair with our JB cafe guide for a soft-food coffee stop the next morning.
Vehicle-wise, a Standard MPV like a Toyota Voxy is the comfortable default for a solo or couple visit — space to recline if you’re drowsy after sedation, room for any post-procedure paperwork and prescriptions. A Luxury MPV (Alphard / Vellfire) is worth the upgrade for longer surgical days when quieter cabin comfort matters. Cross-border chauffeur from SGD $150 (Standard MPV) one-way / SGD $180 (Luxury MPV) one-way, all tolls and Causeway clearance included. For multi-implant patients on a recurring six-month treatment plan, the full-day driver option keeps the same vehicle on hold so you can run a clinic-plus-grocery-plus-pharmacy circuit without re-booking.
If you’d rather drive yourself, check our VEP application guide first — VEP has been mandatory since July 2025 and the application backlog is real. Chartering with us avoids the VEP question entirely.
At MDC-licensed clinics with credentialled implantologists and the brand-name fixture systems (Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Osstem), yes. The materials and protocols are the same as Singapore private clinics. The named clinics in this guide all carry MDC license; verify the dentist’s individual registration before committing to surgical work, and avoid social-media-only smile parlours which are illegal under the Malaysian Dental Act.
Typically 40–65% cheaper for the same procedure with the same materials. A single Straumann implant at SGD $4,500–6,500 in Singapore is SGD $1,800–3,200 in JB; full-mouth restoration at SGD $25,000–60,000 in Singapore is SGD $9,000–25,000 in JB. Even with five chauffeur trips for one implant, you’re SGD $2,000+ ahead per fixture.
Our JB dental guide covers everyday dental — check-ups, scaling, basic fillings, the routine maintenance most SG families use JB for. This page is procedure-focused: implants, veneers, crowns, full-mouth work, full-case Invisalign — the multi-visit treatment plans where the savings run into thousands.
About five trips over six months for a single implant: consult and CBCT scan, extraction with bone graft, implant placement after a 3–4 month heal, abutment and impression after another 3–4 month heal, then crown fitting one to two weeks after that. Multi-implant cases consolidate visits.
Most major SG dental plans — AIA Achiever, Great Eastern Smartcare and similar — accept claims from MDC-licensed dentists. Ask for an itemised receipt in English plus the dentist’s MDC registration number on the invoice at time of payment. Coverage caps and exclusions vary by tier (some plans exclude cosmetic veneers entirely); confirm with your insurer in advance.
Technically yes for routine local-anaesthetic work, but uncomfortable — numbed lip and jaw on the Causeway return is no fun. For IV sedation cases, a chauffeur is mandatory; you cannot drive on residual sedation. Book the chauffeur for the full day; we wait at the clinic and drive you home soft-food-ready.
A Standard MPV (Toyota Voxy class) at SGD $150 one-way is the comfortable default for a solo or couple consult. A Luxury MPV (Alphard or Vellfire) at SGD $180 is worth the upgrade for longer surgical days when quieter cabin comfort matters.
